World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit a Verification and Validation Systems Engineering Specialist subcontractor on an initial 12 month contract. \n \nRate: £85.00 per hour\nOvertime Rate: Hours worked over 37 hours per week will be calculated at ‘time and a quarter’\nLocation: Stevenage or Bristol (depending on your preference)\nHybrid / Remote working: The role will be a hybrid role of on average 2 days per week onsite\nContract: 37 Hours per week\nDuration: 12 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter)\nIR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)\n\nV&V Systems Engineering Specialist Job Description:\n\nThe Test & Evaluation team are looking for a V&V Systems Engineering Specialist to operate with a high-level of technical responsibility for the entire lifecycle of our product, ranging from design and development to qualification and deployment. A specialist will bridge the gap between design and production, ensuring that complex, high-reliability systems meet our requirements.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nTest Strategy & Development: Defining test requirements, creating test plans, scoping front end activities with the customer ensuring that requirements are met and understood with the best efficiency maintained for deliveries.\nSystem Validation: Overseeing or supporting the qualification and acceptance of test equipment, ensuring it is robust, compliant, and accurate.\nAnalysis & Troubleshooting: Analysing test data, identifying performance bottlenecks, and troubleshooting validation issues.\nDocumentation & Governance: Producing technical documentation (test procedures, reports) and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.\nSupport departmental strategy and support the department head with recruitment of the right people into the team.\nProven ability to influence senior stakeholders within the business relating to technical direction\nProvide technical leadership to all Test related issues across design projects with proven experience in Test Equipment requirements capture and specification.\nSupporting new product bid activities.\nIdentify, document and deploy best practice across the department and within projects. \nEssential Skills & Qualifications\n\nTechnical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electronics or mechanical systems, a degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.\nHands-on Experience: Expertise in operating general-purpose test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators).\nIndustry Standards: Knowledge of safety-critical standards, particularly within aerospace, defence (e.g., MOD), or rail sectors.\nCommunication: Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams and liaise with customers for system acceptance.\nHands-on experience of DOORS & DOORS NG, SysML & Rhapsody would be desirable, but training will be provided where needed.\nExperience in DfT and testability.\nRF / Microwave systems knowledge would be desirable
